Hosting an open house can be a fantastic opportunity to connect with potential clients. To ensure you’re making the most of this event, here are six tips to enhance the open house experience and potentially find people you can help, whether they’re looking to sell or buy.

1. Leverage social media and email. After scheduling your open house, spread the word on all your social media platforms and email it to your entire database. It’s important to reach a wide audience, as you never know who might be interested or know someone who is.

2. Engage the neighbors. Door-knock at least 100 neighbors with an invitation to a ‘neighbors-only’ preview. This not only fosters community engagement but also shows potential sellers how you would represent their home.

“You can transform your open house into a highly effective and enjoyable event for attendees.”

3. Strategic signage. Place 8 to 12 directional signs in strategic locations to guide visitors to your open house. Enhance visibility with a sign in front of the house, possibly adorned with balloons or a feather flag, to create a sense of eventfulness.

4. Create a teaser video. Before the open house, use a selfie stick to shoot a quick 15 to 30-second video previewing the property. Share this teaser on social media to generate interest and attract attendees.

5. Capture visitor information. Set up a digital or paper signing option to capture the contact information of attendees. This is crucial for future follow-ups and answering any questions they might have about the property.
